Content License
1. Ownership and republication
A member keeps the copyright in the article they write. Publishing it here transfers nothing; it stays their work.
Submitting an article grants Chiro+ a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, and promote that article and the images submitted with it — on this site, and in material promoting this site.
That license is perpetual and outlives the membership. The reason is the public record rather than convenience: a published feature has its own permanent address that people cite, link to, and print, and the badge issued for it points at that address. A license a member could revoke at will would break links made in good faith and a trail that strangers rely on.
A member may republish their own article wherever they like — their practice website, a journal, print — so long as the republication names Chiro+ as the original place of publication and, online, links to the original.
A member may ask for their article to be taken down, and Chiro+ may take one down of its own accord. In either case the article comes off the site. What the member's badge says about their standing is the Badge Usage License's subject and does not change because an article was removed.
2. What a member confirms at submission
That the article is their own work.
That they have the right to publish everything in it, including anything quoted from somewhere else.
That any image they upload is theirs to use.
3. Editorial changes
Editorial review can ask for revisions, and the member makes them. Chiro+ does not publish a version of an article the member has not seen.
4. Images and other material
An image a member uploads is used to illustrate their own article and the pages that link to it — their profile, their metro, and the share card for the article itself.
5. If a membership ends
Anything a doctor was selected for stays on the record permanently.
An article that was already published stays published, under the license in section 1, which outlives the membership. The member still holds the copyright and may still republish it anywhere on the terms set out there. The one exception is a member who deletes their account: their articles leave the public site with their profile, and our copy is kept privately, as the Privacy Policy describes.
A member whose membership has ended may still ask for their article to be taken down, on the same footing as a member whose membership is active.
